About us

In 2008 the town of Nottingham adopted the Nottingham Right to Water and Local Self-Government Ordinance after the town spent over 400,000 appealing the permits through regulatory schemes that would have allowed USA Spring to extract groundwater from a bedrock aquifer. In 2019 residents of Nottingham adopted the Nottingham Freedom from Chemical Trespass Ordinance to further protect their wells. As a result, the townspeople are now empowered with legal standing to protect both human and natural communities from corporate polluters.
